Dear all, the registration for the Big Data & Machine Learning in Hydrology Symposium May 18-20th in Penn State is now open. hydroml.org. We have both in-person and remote options, but since it's about building a community, in-person is encouraged! Please join us!

Registration cost include meals! Travel grants are available thanks to NSF and Penn State PS Institute for Computational & Data Sciences. Submitting an abstract is optional. This is a fully-vaccinated event.

Excited to share my latest paper published in the Journal of Hydrometeorology! We enhanced the prediction of SWE across the western US by integrating historical observations into an LSTM model, with notable improvements in accuracy. journals.ametsoc.org/view/journals/…

Our new preprint on how physics-informed machine learning models can improve generalization for flood extreme events compared to purely data-driven models. Improving Physics-informed, Differentiable Hydrologic Models for Capturing Unseen Extreme Events bit.ly/3WA1GTm

I am very glad to share our recent work about the good extrapolation of differentiable, physically-informed models in predicting unseen extremes.

A huge preprint and lots of work to get us here. High-resolution national-scale water modeling. High-quality data-informed hydrologic simulations at MERIT basin level (median ~37 km2). Coord effort from my group and lead-authored by Yalan Song Tadd Bindas bit.ly/3NnqDNB

This work develops high-resolution, multiscale, differentiable models for national-scale water modeling. Our continental high-resolution dataset is now available online! The code will be released upon the acceptance of the paper.
