#CHI2024 check out William's paper tackling the scarcity of data representing marginalized populations in AI training -- a data synthesis approach to improve posture recognition for wheelchair users. Results show improvements of +98% and +8% on segmentation and KP tracking!

#CHI2024 My PhD student Xue Wang developed visual speech recognition based entirely on depth data for devices on wrist, on head, and in environment, an optical microphone we envision future ambient intelligence will rely on to interface with users. Chat with her for details!

#CHI2024 Xiaoying will be presenting a new addition to her thesis research "interaction-powered IoT", in which we envision physical environments will become infrastructure to enable energy generation, transfer, and sharing through user interactions. Check out her poster!
