Iranian business weekly "Tejarat-e Farda" raises the question "Why are economic interests not the basis of an agreement?" and criticizes that the approach of Iran and US in the nuclear negotiations is not based on attracting "common interests" but on "repelling mutual threats."

This is a strategic setback for Russia. A significant part — maybe even the majority — of its airworthy strategic bomber fleet (part of the nuclear triad) appears to have been destroyed today.

It is Israel's weakness, not Iran's weakness, that makes a military strike on Iran appealing to Netanyahu and his cadre. I think Raz Zimmt raises some excellent points in this response to Alireza Talakoubnejad about how Israel might assess Iran's strength and how that could factor into a

“Past administrations removed sanctions on pariah nations incrementally, and always in exchange for painstakingly negotiated actions from the sanctioned parties.” Delaney explains the novelty of Trump’s approach to lifting sanctions on Syria. foreignpolicy.com/2025/06/02/tru…

We should focus our outrage on the many genuinely outrageous aspects of Trump's foreign policy, and if he happens to get a nuclear deal that is in our interest we should support it.

Really positive interview from Madanizadeh, Iran’s prospective economy minister. He wants to create conditions for households and firms to move away from investing in safe havens and towards investing in productive assets. A much-needed supply-side focus!
