Year 1 (Class 4) loved making their very own rockpools, using oil pastels and watercolour paint. They can't wait to add a border with real sand next lesson! 🎨🖌️🦀🦐🪼 #ks1art #year1art #rockpoolart #seasideart #everychildanartist

We have begun to learn about the Christian festival of Harvest. The children went on a walk around school to see what fruits and vegetables were growing and ready to be harvested. 🍏🥔🍓#MelthamRE

This week during Forest school the children have been busy learning about the Jewish harvest festival of Sukkot. The children made a class shelter (a sukkah) and decorated them with flowers. #MelthamRE

The children showed great teamwork to build their shelters with three walls, construct a roof of branches and decorate them with flowers and fruit. #MelthamRE

🌟Today is World Mental Health Day. Mrs Myers (me!) led an assembly on how it’s important to look after your mental health. I taught the children about glimmers and asked them to look out for micro moments that give them joy. I am looking forward to hearing about them! 🌟

Class 4 have been thinking about what Christians believe God is like. They listened to the story of the Lost Son and thought about the hidden meaning of the parable #MelthamRE

Class 4 made 'hidden meaning' boxes. These showed what happened in the parable of the Lost Son on the outside of the box and the true meaning of the story on the inside. We learnt that Christians believe that God is loving and forgiving #MelthamRE

In RE in Class 4 we explored the idea of God being like a parent who loves us. The children wrote down the ways they know they are loved and how they show love. “ When my daddy is chopping carrots, I say be careful!” Isabelle. #MelthamPupilVoice #MelthamRE

Class 4 have been learning about first aid in PSHE. The children worked together to draw and write where a person might need first aid and they then decided what would be good first aid to offer #MelthamPSHE
