Through live imaging enabled by new tools, Wuergezhen et al. visualises the hidden dynamics of the basement membrane (BM). We show how BM turnover & expansion coordinate with cellular movements & divisions, highlighting their active & synergistic roles in skin morphogenesis.

Excited to share our new preprint: "Epithelium Stratifies via Nucleation and Growth Induced by Foam-Geometric Instability". Led by Fukamachi (ねぎ), we combine 3D vertex modeling, imaging, and AFM to uncover epithelial layer formation mechanics. biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh…
