79 years ago today, Jews living in the #WarsawGhetto responded with armed resistance when the German forces began the liquidation of the Ghetto. The #WarsawGhettoUprising became a worldwide symbol of the struggle against the #Holocaust. Photos from the #IPNArchive collection.

On 19 April 1943 the Germans had been carrying out the final liquidation of the Jewish population of #Warsaw, the Ghetto Uprising broke out. Around 460,000 people were living in the ghetto. Most of them were killed at #Treblinka death camp.

#WarsawGhettoUprising broke out #OTD in 1943. It was the largest act of armed resistance taken up by the Jews during #WWII. The advantage of the Germans gave no hope of victory, but insurgents chose to die holding a gun in their hands to save dignity after years of repression.

We had the pleasure of welcoming AFS New York at the Flemish Delegation today. As part of their 27th Youth Assembly in New York, a group of young delegates from all over the world learned about the Flemish Diplomacy and the transatlantic relations between Flanders and USA.

Last weekend, The Delegation attended the UCI Cyclocross World Cup in Fayetteville. Centennial Park transformed into a weekend-long festival site with music, food and the UCI CycloCross World Cup race. Congratulations to Eli Iserbyt on his 2nd World Cup victory in a row. #cycling
