Thrilled to share our new preprint on using a new type of microbial memory to track horizontal gene transfer in environmental microbial communities. Amazing collaboration with Chappell Lab and Joff Silberg labs. biorxiv.org/content/10.110… (1/n)
Check out our latest paper on using CRISPR-associated transposons (CASTs) as a novel gene activation tool. Huge congratulations to Andrea Garza E. who led the work! pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.102…
Check out our new paper in Nature Communications on transforming conventional glucometer into a point-of-care biosensor for cancer therapeutics! This work was led by Dr. Rong Cai and Chiagoziem Ngwadom, Ph.D. :) in collaboration with the Verduzco lab Rafael Verduzco Ravindra Saxena nature.com/articles/s4146…
Happy to share that I received tenure and promotion to associate professor Rice University! It's been a long and enjoyable journey, and I'm told the fun is just beginning! Many thanks to my family, friends, collaborators, and colleagues, and huge props to my students & postdocs!
Check out my first publication with Chappell Lab and Joff Silberg ! Read it to learn how rare events like horizontal gene transfer can be tracked using a #ribozyme and #syntheticbiology. 🦠🧬🎁➡️🦠🟰🦠☁️‼️🟰👩🔬🥳 pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…
Glad to share our review article on Nature Reviews Bioengineering on how to engineer microbial biosensors that generate electrical outputs⚡. Importantly, we propose interdisciplinary approaches to transform these bioelectronic sensors into the field. 1/11 nature.com/articles/s4422…
