Senior Minister of State for Defence Mr Zaqy Mohamad Zaqy M is in Amman, 🇯🇴 from 12 to 13 Feb for the delivery of 🇸🇬’s 7th tranche of humanitarian aid for Gaza, and thanked Jordan for supporting and facilitating the SAF's transfer of Singapore’s humanitarian aid package.

SMS for Defence Mr Zaqy M was in Cairo, Egypt for a working visit from 15 to16 Feb during which he thanked Egypt for supporting the SAF's delivery of humanitarian aid and medical assistance to Gaza. His visit underscores the warm and friendly defence relations between 🇸🇬 and 🇪🇬

SMS for Defence Mr Zaqy M hosted a US congressional delegation, led by Rep. Jimmy Panetta (D-California), at the RSS Singapura earlier today. During the visit, Mr Zaqy reaffirmed the significant and long-standing defence relationship between the 🇺🇸 and 🇸🇬

Earlier today, Senior Minister of State for Defence Mr Zaqy M officiated the launch of the SAF60 Commemorative Exhibition Showcase at the Singapore Discovery Centre, which will be on display at various public locations, incl. PA Integrated Community Hubs and SAFRA clubhouses.

In view of the urgent need for aid, the Changi Regional HADR Coordination Centre coordinated the delivery of a second tranche of humanitarian aid to 🇲🇲, via two of The RSAF's C-130 transport aircraft today. Singapore Red Cross Myanmar Red Cross MSE Singapore

US PACFLT Commander ADM Stephen Koehler called on SMS for Defence Mr Zaqy M today, where they reaffirmed the excellent and long-standing defence relations between 🇸🇬 and 🇺🇸. They also discussed efforts to continue strengthening defence cooperation between both countries.

Naval leadership of the FPDA member-nations jointly called on SMS for Defence Mr Zaqy M today on the sidelines of IMDEX 2025, where they exchanged views on the importance of strengthening multilateral ties and contributing to regional peace and security.

SMS for Defence Mr Zaqy M opened IMDEX Asia 2025 this morning, where he emphasised the continued significance of encouraging mutual understanding and dialogue via such multilateral platforms. Over 56 delegations from more than 35 countries attended the opening ceremony.

SMS for Defence Mr Zaqy M delivered the keynote address at the 9th International Maritime Security Conference (IMSC) opening dinner this evening, where he highlighted the importance of upholding the rules-based maritime order and preserving peace in the global maritime commons.

French Senator, President of the Senate’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Armed Forces, Mr Cédric Perrin called on SMS for Defence Mr Zaqy M this afternoon, where they reaffirmed the two countries’ commitment to strengthen bilateral defence cooperation. 🇸🇬🇫🇷

SMS for Defence Mr Zaqy M led a 🇸🇬 delegation to attend the 10th Indo Defence 2025 Expo and Forum. He called on Indonesian Vice-Minister of Defense Air Marshal (Rtd) Donny Ermawan Taufanto where they reaffirmed the close and long-standing defence relations between 🇸🇬 and 🇮🇩.

Grateful to be reappointed by PM Lawrence Wong as Deputy Leader of the House. I’ll continue supporting Indranee Rajah to ensure Parliament runs smoothly, with debates that reflect real concerns on the ground. Looking forward to the opening of Parliament in September!
