Better, cheaper and greener - prototypal members of new platform of hybrid ultramicroporous materials based on en chelate linker reported by Mike Zaworotko group @MukherjeeChem + Materials & Catalysis Modelling Group in Chemical Science: pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art… 🥂 Dan O'H + @koli_motte + 1st paper Asif Raza

C8 separations enabled by an interpenetrated pcu topology DMOF-1 variant are the focus of the latest collaboration between the Na Sun group (Shenyang University of Chemical Technology) and Mike Zaworotko group Now available OA in Inorganic Chemistry: pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

Brilliant 2 days of MOF presentations and brainstorming hosted by Neil and UoBChemistry in their swanky new digs. Mike Zaworotko group, Materials & Catalysis Modelling Group + @MukherjeeChem pleased to present + participate in the discussions. Looking forward to future partnerships. #ChemicalSciUL #bernalnews

Strange water sorption properties caused by a reversible redox reaction involving dipyrazolate linked Co(II) octanuclear clusters. Now out in J. Am. Chem. Soc.: pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja… Another fruitful collaboration between JR Li Beijing University of Technology + Mike Zaworotko group lead by "XK" Xiang-Jing Kong + Tao

CALF-20 strikes yet again - this time as a sieve for n-butene/iso-butene. Now out in ACS Materials Letters: pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac… @zgroupul is delighted to continue its partnership on design and properties of narrow pore sorbents with Yun Lei Peng group from China University Of Petroleum

Two days of sunshine, porous materials and people chemistry. A great way to spend a weekend - the 3rd Texas Pore Engineering Conference hosted by Ognjen Miljanić + UH_RimerGroup at University of Houston. Kicked off by The Zhou Group (20th Oct), closing shortly with a presentation by @zgroupUL.

Travel in 2024 concludes with 🇨🇳 starting in Lanzhou. Mike Zaworotko group and @MukherjeeChem present lectures Lanzhou University. Wang Wei and Chen Shoushun are thanked for being such great hosts. Looking forward to future engagements. Off we go now to Xi'an for the first CELTIC in 🇨🇳 meeting.

Crystal engineering has come a long way both geographically and scientifically. The first CELTIC China meeting was held on 11/03 in historic, beautiful Xi"an. Past + present Mike Zaworotko group members joined by Chen Xiao-Ming + family to enjoy great people + porous materials chemistry.

We 😍 ultramicroporous materials. A lot. Mike Zaworotko group delighted to report with YL Peng of China University Of Petroleum in Nature Chemistry on sieving of C3 gases by a hybrid azolate framework, HAF-1, that has just the right pore size: rdcu.be/d0h3p Doing different things feels pretty good.

A new linker ligand + 3 coordination polymers reported by Mike Zaworotko group in Crystal Growth & Design / ACS @jjvittal special issue: pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac… Published on Xmas day = cool Made by mechanochem or slurry = green 1st author an undergrad = priceless Congrats to Maria🇮🇪 + Aizhamal Subanbekova🇰🇬 + Alan Eaby🇿🇦

Sam's SAM has unusual water vapor sorption properties + strange guest-induced structural transformations. Read in ACS Materials Letters: pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac… Congrats to all @zgroupUL and Materials & Catalysis Modelling Group authors on 2025 paper #1, especially Sam Shabangu🧑🏾🔬 for his first 1st author paper.

1D coordination polymer + H-bonds + pi stacking = MOF as reported in J. Am. Chem. Soc. by @zgroupUL and @brianbspace: pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.10… Congrats to Alan Eaby + co-authors for revealing how this understudied but potentially vast family of materials can serve as H2O and CO2 sorbents.

Transient porosity in a closed pore solid reported by @zgroupul + @MukherjeeChem in Angewandte Chemie: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/an… Congrats Kyriaki Koupepidou for never giving up on this sorbent + Len Barbour Materials & Catalysis Modelling Group who provided insight into sorption mechanism (angular linker = 😀)

Flexible sorbents of all types (molecular + 1D + network) are😎 to study + can have 🌶️properties. @zgroupUL members Kyriaki Koupepidou + Aizhamal Subanbekova have just published a feature article on functional flexible sorbents in ChemComm: pubs.rsc.org/en/Content/Art… That is 2 papers in <24 h for KK!
