The 2020 U.S. Midwest derecho cost over $7 billion damage in Iowa alone. GWAS/TWAS of maize root lodging uncovered the genetic architecture of the trait, providing potential breeding targets for root lodging resistance under the fast-changing climate. doi.org/10.1093/plphys…
