I support the effort to find a trilateral agreement with China & Russia to mutually draw down bloated military budgets. We should not oppose efforts to reduce military spending & work towards peace just because it is proposed by Trump.

So, is it a new norm that you can quit a treaty to get more 'flexibility'? That's quite a slippery slope. Where do we stop? CWC? NPT? Idk, Geneva Conventions? (Note that US withdrawal from the ABM Treaty was an important step in this direction)

Putting aside the politics and the maximalist rhetoric, the phased approach to a ceasefire agreed on this US-#Russia call today is a possible viable path to an eventual cessation of hostilities. 1/x
