On November 1-2, 2024, a Coral Reef Conservation and Restoration Techniques training was conducted in collaboration with EMACE FOUNDATION . This initiative, part of the Coastal Communities Project, is implemented by the Global Nature Fund with financial support from Bundesentwicklungsministerium

Our team had the privilege of meeting Ms. Vidya Dinker, International Committee Member of the NGO Forum on ADB , during COP29 in Baku. We had in insightful discussions on energy transition challenges in South Asia & explored opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing.

At COP29 in Baku, our team had the opportunity to meet Abdul Kalam, Manager of Just Energy Transition at ActionAid Bangladesh. We explored potential collaboration with the Alliance & discussed strategies to promote equitable and sustainable energy transitions across the region.

Our team had a meeting with Nurses Across the Borders International on the sidelines of COP29 in Baku. We discussed strategies for potential engagement and collaboration, focusing on health and sustainability initiatives.

We’ve successfully concluded our participation at COP29, the 2024 United Nations Climate Change Conference, held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from November 11–22. The experience reinforced our commitment to driving sustainable solutions and supporting global climate action.

Our Director for Projects and Programmes, Yamin Mohamed participated in the Culmination Event of The Asia Foundation’s Strengthening Civil Society Organizations in the Maldives Project (2020–2024). The event took place in Malé from 11 to 12 December 2024.

Carruthers et al. (2024) attribute mangrove dieback in the Maldives to extreme sea-level rise from the Indian Ocean Dipole. This caused salinity stress, reduced sediment accretion, and soil submergence, exceeding the tolerance of Bruguiera cylindrica, resulting in mortality.
