Fantastic! Well Done to #Suriname; declared malaria free by WHO—thanks to relentless prevention, early detection & treatment. Distribution of nets, health workers support in remote areas, and the The Global Fund's help to scale diagnostics enabled the break in transmission. 🇸🇷

🌍Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office funding to Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) has helped develop the first approved malaria treatment for newborns and infants. Three quarters of malaria deaths are from children under the age of five, this is a major step in saving young lives.
