Lots wondering why those in the Dagenham building were still living in a known to be unsafe building - welcome to the #BuildingSafetyCrisis. 1000s of us are living in unsafe homes. End Our Cladding Scandal have campaigned for years on this and we've always said the fire won't wait.

A major incident has been declared following a fire at a block in Barking and Dagenham where dangerous cladding was being removed. Regardless of the cause of the fire, one fact remains: 7 years since Grenfell and people still live in blocks that are unsafe and combustible.

Horrified to wake up to this, the very thing we’ve all feared for years. It is time to fix this crisis once and for all, enough kicking the problem down the road. Fire doesn’t wait. I hope that everyone is now safe and my thoughts are with everyone affected.

We don't want politicians' thoughts & prayers. We want buildings to be made completely safe, quickly, at no cost to the victims of the #BuildingSafetyCrisis. You Angela Rayner can do this by stopping every developer who caused this from building more till they fix their mistakes.
