🚨 NEW | The FBU has slammed deregulation that led to the Grenfell fire. It's right that 'stay put' is reviewed, but firefighters worked under impossible conditions. Chief officers failed to prepare. Warnings on cladding were ignored. We must face the building safety crisis.

Robert Jenrick told me I should pay a loan back for the rest of my life because someone put flammable materials in the walls of my home and I had to pay to remove it. #cladding #buildingsafetyscandal

Our thoughts are with all those impacted by the fire in Dagenham this morning, we hope all residents are safe and adequately cared for by the authorities 💚

🔴 Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by the fire in Dagenham this morning. The number one priority is that all affected residents are safe and well and get the support and answers they need. Action to make our homes safe remains urgent - and the pace must accelerate.

Lots wondering why those in the Dagenham building were still living in a known to be unsafe building - welcome to the #BuildingSafetyCrisis. 1000s of us are living in unsafe homes. End Our Cladding Scandal have campaigned for years on this and we've always said the fire won't wait.

A major incident has been declared following a fire at a block in Barking and Dagenham where dangerous cladding was being removed. Regardless of the cause of the fire, one fact remains: 7 years since Grenfell and people still live in blocks that are unsafe and combustible.

Horrified to wake up to this, the very thing we’ve all feared for years. It is time to fix this crisis once and for all, enough kicking the problem down the road. Fire doesn’t wait. I hope that everyone is now safe and my thoughts are with everyone affected.

We don't want politicians' thoughts & prayers. We want buildings to be made completely safe, quickly, at no cost to the victims of the #BuildingSafetyCrisis. You Angela Rayner can do this by stopping every developer who caused this from building more till they fix their mistakes.

The lack of urgency to remove unsafe materials from high rise buildings is incredible. People’s lives are at stake. I hope this serves as a wake up call to this government. It must ensure these buildings are remediated at pace. #buildingsafetycrisis

🚨 Grenfell Inquiry report 🚨 - "Complacent" govt "well aware" of risk of cladding disaster but failed to act - "Systematic dishonesty" by product manufacturers "very significant reason" for fire - "Chronic and systemic" fire safety failures by tower's social landlords

“The Judge concluded that every single loss of life that night was avoidable.” Perhaps the most horrifying fact to come from the 1700 page Grenfell Tower Inquiry report @grenfellunited

"The dark heart of this catastrophe lies in this simple, depressing narrative: the state stepped back, corporate greed stepped in and innocent people died." The Grenfell report is out. It is clear. Justice is needed now and this crisis needs to be fixed. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Honestly HOW has Robert Jenrick won the first round of the Tory leadership race, on the same day that the Grenfell report is published, when he showed nothing but utter contempt for those caught up in the #buildingsafetycrisis during his years as Secretary of State for Housing?!
