New meta-analysis: spaced retrieval practice is superior to massed, but there's no benefit to expanding vs uniform spacing intervals. link.springer.com/article/10.100…

The constant pressure to “catch kids up” doesn’t actually lead to increased mastery of content or skills. You can’t rush kids through learning experiences. You can’t devalue relationship building because kids are “behind.” All you can do is work to meet kids where they are at.

What a well-deserved honor for my friend @pati_ru! It makes me happy knowing she's going to bat for students when it comes to AI in schools. Congrats, Pati, and thanks for the work you're doing!

I want to make a difference for individual learners and also want to help improve things on a systematic level. This blog explains how Digital Promise is doing both through collaborative research hubs. Just another reason I'm happy to be part of their work!

I love this idea for activating thinking and prior knowledge! This concept can totally be adapted for different content areas, too! What a great way to push thinking!

Why has no one connected these dots for me before? (I knew some but maybe not even most.) Storytelling is so powerful. Math in its historic context is so powerful. youtu.be/Lr9Epp5eKUQ

I just rewatched the listening session with the US Dept of Ed on Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Assessment. In a time that's been really difficult for educators, it makes me hopeful that we will be moving in a better direction in years to come! youtu.be/SwQulB3WtEE

It's summer and I finally had time to write a little :) Huge thanks to Dr. Dalila Dragnic-Cindric for sharing her insights around regulation of learning and co-writing with me!

Feeling excited! Our session is only a week away and it combines two of my favorite things-- *Leveraging Learning Sciences to design better classroom experiences for students *Using instructional technology with a focus on the humans in the room
