Scientists from #CpgSthlm & Friedlander lab @marcfriedlander.bsky.social have for the first time recovered RNA from an extinct species! From ∼130 yr old dry tissue! A game-changer for studies on gene expression in extinct species & RNA virus evolution (SARS, ebola, influensa, etc)? genome.cshlp.org/content/early/…

Organizing a mini symposium here in Uppsala dealing with microeukaryote diversity and ecology. First up Alex Worden talking about marine protists and their interactions (and biogeochemical implications of that. AMRI (Aquatic Microbiome Research Initiative) SciLifeLab #planetarybiology

Here's a current run after ~16h of some of one the samples Stefan Bertilsson. It's going to be a fantastic dataset. Looking forward to working with you on it once it's all sequenced and assembled!

I travel for work. From time to time there is delays but normally you get support from customer service. Not for Eurowings ! After delayed flight (notified after passing security) there is no service desk and over phone they simply say “can’t help you”. Poor customer service!!
