Toll increases are built into PPP contracts. Government is subsidising road-users not private contractors. Obviously not climate friendly. irishtimes.com/transport/2022…

Notice that the govt has extended the right to buy council housing to pensioner tenants independent.ie/irish-news/new… Lest we forget the main reason for the shortage of social housing isn't we didn't build enough of it, rather we sold off 2/3rds of what we build at knockdown prices.

Why is the emphasis on just Dublin? Every Irish city seems to be suffering from the same woes. Lack of social order, lack of housing, poor police presence, unkept public realms, unreliable/ non existent public transport, retail closures etc.

Nice to be quoted in today's New York Times article on Ireland’s Latest Fiscal Headache: What to Do With 10 Billion Euros nytimes.com/2023/09/15/bus…

Service by Dublin Coach deteriorating badly. Waited an hour for bus from Limerick to Dublin. Even though schedule advertises departures every 30 minutes. Bus broke down after toll booth!! Other passengers had stories of similar experiences.

About 160,000 report rental income to Revenue meaning this landlord tax cut will cost c.€100-150 million, the vast majority going to landlords who have never even thought about leaving the market. Maybe the stupidest tax relief of recent times, against stiff competition.

Proud to have contributed to this report. It highlights the significant impact EB has on the quality of life for those with EB as well as their carers and also identifies gaps in access to healthcare resources. RTE article below worth a look Business at UL rte.ie/news/2023/1024…
