A huge honour to receive this award on Friday. Thank you to everyone that supported me throughout my career, particularly my parents for making my dream a reality, my brothers Michael Laverty & John Laverty for paving the way, and my wife Pippa Laverty for being by my side unwaveringly.

On Thursday we said goodbye to a great man in Paulo Pinheiro. I owe so much of my career to Paulo as in 2009 he gave me an opportunity when no one else would. Paulo’s legacy will live on through his dream that he built, Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, and his son Bernardo of whom he was so proud.
