On Monday 30th,June our team engaged with Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Central Division Health Team in an entry meeting to introduce the Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance Equity Accelerator Fund supported by PATH. The team highlighted house to house immunization strategy to reach #zero_dose and #underimmunized children


It was an insightful meeting with the Ministry of Social Services (Health) Buganda Kingdom Ministry of Health- Uganda & UNICEF Uganda to explore strategies to reach zero-dose & under-immunized children in Kampala leveraging the Kingdom’s strong community networks & media PATH Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance

On 11 Aug 2025 in Kawempe Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), we met LC1 Chairpersons to discuss joint efforts in linking hard-to-reach communities to immunization. Leaders cited political divides & limited capacity among local leaders as key drivers of vaccine hesitancy. Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance #EAF PATH.


In Uganda, 90%+ people spend more time in places of worship weekly than at work. Thru Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance EAF, today in Makindye we engaged grassroots religious leaders to promote immunization in sermons, addressing the gap of thinking health promotion is only for health workers. PATH

From a 2-day training of young mothers as Immunization Champions in Makindye Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), with support from PATH Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance EAF Mothers noted key barriers including charges for immunization cards & the fast-tracking of those who pay fees, which disadvantage unemployed caregivers.


Today in Central division Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), we held a community dialogue with Mengo refugee leaders on immunization.
